One year ago, Boom Photo Booth set out to reinvent the traditional photo booth experience. Our vision was simple: create a modern, easy-to-use photo booth that delivers beautiful photos while making every event more engaging.

Twelve months later, we're celebrating an incredible milestone, and it's all thanks to our amazing clients, partners, and the feedback that has helped us grow.

At Boom Photo Booth, we don't believe in standing still.

Our founder, Jennifer Romano, brings 20+ years of User Experience (UX) expertise from leading teams at some of the world's most innovative companies, including Facebook and Google. That experience taught us one important lesson: the best products are built by listening to the people who use them.

Every event has helped us make Boom Photo Booth even better. We continually gather feedback from clients and guests to improve the experience, making our booths more intuitive, versatile, and fun.

While the guest experience is powered by thoughtful UX design, the quality of every photo is driven by professional photography.

Boom Photo Booth's Creative Director and Co-Founder, Richard Cadan, has spent years photographing brands around the world. Drawing on his experience as a professional photographer, Richard helped design a photo booth experience that is high quality, professional-looking (no ring lights here!), and produces images far beyond what most traditional photo booth rentals can offer. We aim to bring the look and feel of a professional studio to every single event.

Rather than relying on basic built-in lighting, Boom Photo Booth uses professional photography equipment, including studio-quality lighting, an umbrella light modifier, and a sturdy lighting stand, to create flattering, evenly lit images in virtually any environment. The high quality booth also means it can be used essentially anywhere, from the ballroom to the beach. 

Our professional-grade setup can be assembled in about 10 minutes and includes options for, custom overlays, virtual backgrounds, and instant digital sharing.

The result are crisp, high-resolution digital photos and beautiful photo strips that guests are proud to share on social media, use for LinkedIn profiles, or keep as lasting memories.

What We've Accomplished in Our First Year

In just one year, we've made major improvements across our company and the entire photo booth experience, including:

• Establishing an Operations Team in CT, ensuring delivery is faster than before, when everything shipped from HI

• Enhanced, sharper, and more vibrant photo strips

• An expanded collection of professionally designed photo strip templates - we moved from color and font personalization to now being able to personalize the entire strip

• Virtual backgrounds that transform every event into a custom experience

• Video tutorials to help you set up the photo booth and know exactly what to expect

• A premium travel bag that makes transportation and setup faster and easier than ever and used over and over again so it’s more sustainable and reduces packing waste.

• Improved app features, including a retake feature to retake shots and improved sharing functionality

• A Headshot feature, enabling clients to use a self-service photo booth for company headshots (this will soon be a standalone app!)

• A smoother, more intuitive guest experience from start to finish 

• We added Nonprofit and Military discounts, supporting those who help others

• We're especially proud to be the first sustainable photo booth company in the United States, helping businesses and event planners reduce waste without sacrificing quality or style.
  

Sustainability and Anywhere Use

Sustainability is a design principle in every decision at Boom. We are digital-first, energy-efficient, we pride ourselves in reducing waste from shipping and in our day-to-day operations. We use green storage for our images, we are digital sharing, no printing, and our materials are built to last. Our booths include solar-powered options so if you don’t have access to electricity, you don;t have to miss out: Boom Photo Booths work anywhere, from ballrooms to the beach.

Feature Highlights Inspired by Customers

We continually add features based on user feedback to make events smoother and more fun:

• Retake Option: If a guest doesn’t love a shot, they can retake it and swap out the image before saving or sharing.

• Instant Review & Sharing: Guests can instantly review photos and send favorites via text or email for unlimited digital shares, no caps on fun.

• Headshot Feature: We noticed people used Boom at conferences to take professional headshots, so we created a version of Boom that enables you to take headshots, complete with prompts and examples of how to stand and pose.
